Moving right along in our DIY gift series for Christmas, this week I’m covering DIY gifts for kids. We’ve already covered handmade gifts for men, women, and mom, so be sure and check them out if you still have some open spots on your gift list. Next Monday I will finish up the series with…
When I first started this DIY gift series, I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to find many gifts for men. I, for one, have such a hard time buying gifts for men unless I know exactly what they want. I never grew up with brothers, so I feel like I have no idea…
This Christmas is truly a DIY holiday for my family. The budget is tight and my project list is growing. Not only am I making several of my gifts this year (which I enjoy, and love to give anyway), but I have also found tons of Christmas decorations that I am looking forward to making… whether or not I actually find time to make them remains to be seen.
I had a really good response to last week’s “DIY gifts for her” post, so I thought I would continue on this week with some great gift ideas for mom. Moms tend to be easy to please; they love photos of their families and grandkids, and just about anything practical or pretty. Here are some great DIY gifts for mom that even you would love to receive!
Have we all recovered from the holiday weekend? Between Black Friday shopping and stuffing my face on Thanksgiving, I spent a lot of time sitting on the couch in exhaustion. Well worth it, however.
Here’s a quick round-up of the online deals today:
Happy Thanksgiving! Don’t forget to count your blessings today and tell your friends and family how thankful you are for them!
Since the shopping world has decided to infringe on our holiday instead of waiting until Black Friday to post money-saving deals, there’s quite a round up of sales starting today and lasting into Friday or the weekend. If you are looking to score some savings on holiday gifts (or something for yourself – go ahead, you deserve it!), here are some of the deals currently happening:
I’ve only officially participated in Black Friday once. I hate crowds and I hate getting up early. My husband and I wanted to get a TV at Target one year and decided to brave the crowds. Of course, since we both hate crowds and waiting in line, we showed up about 10 minutes before the store opened, and weren’t there early enough to have a decent spot in line or to hear the announcement that all TVs were on the floor in the clothing section instead of electronics. As you can probably guess, we did not get ourselves a TV that year. It was further confirmation to me that I am not made for Black Friday.
Have you ever used Ebates.com? It is the easiest, no-hassle way to earn money for shopping online. I tell you this because I love it, and because I think it’s about time somebody makes it easy to get free money.
With the holiday season coming up, most people will undoubtedly be doing some online shopping, and if you do it through Ebates, you could save all kinds of money.
You’ll be happy to hear that there are no points to redeem, no forms to mail in, and no fees. I hate doing lots of work to save money, and I promise, this has no hoops to jump through. Simply go to Ebates.com and find your desired retailer (although they don’t work with everyone, they have over 1200 stores available on their site including big names like Target, Old Navy, Lowe’s, and Best Buy). When you find the site you want to shop on, it will tell you what percent back you will earn on your sale (this amount fluctuates from store to store and throughout the year). Click on your store and you will be directed to their site, and that ends your part in using Ebates. It really is that simple.
Like it or not, the holidays are fast approaching! I, myself, am starting to compile my gift list for friends and family and strategically plan for Christmas. So in honor of saving money during the holiday season and planning ahead, I’m starting a new series!
I’m the kind of girl that loves to hang things on the wall. Art, photos, weird little sentimental pieces, shelves. Whatever. I love it all. A full wall gives me joy. Blank walls make me nervous. But if I had to frame each thing that I hang, I would be broke. Because, gosh darnit, frames are expensive.…
