Save Money Monday: DIY gifts for kids

diy gift ideas, gift tutorials, handmade gifts

Moving right along in our DIY gift series for Christmas, this week I’m covering DIY gifts for kids. We’ve already covered handmade gifts for men, women, and mom, so be sure and check them out if you still have some open spots on your gift list. Next Monday I will finish up the series with DIY gifts for friends/neighbors/coworkers; they will be simple gifts that you’ll have plenty of time to make before Christmas comes.

I found tons of great DIY gift ideas for kids, so let’s get right to it. There are lots of them, so scroll through to check them all out!

Perfect for cold or rainy days, or even to take to grandma’s house!

You can make this as easy or as difficult as you want, since you choose the design. For toddlers, how about a big circle? For older kids, perhaps an animal silhouette.

Crayon and coloring book carrier

If you’re an avid sewer, I think you could figure out the dimension for this on your own, but you can also buy the pattern for only $8. It would certainly be worth the money, because I can imagine making this carrier over and over again as a gift!

I love this idea for older kids! I definitely want my kids to have their own kit some day so we can keep all the supplies in one spot and pull it out on rainy days.

This is a great gift for older kids. Make it with an old Jenga game found at a thrift store, some fabric or scrapbook paper scraps, and Mod Podge (Oh, how I love the endless possiblities with Mod Podge!).

I love these simple hats. Martha even gives you the appropriate head sizes for newborn to adult so you can make them for whoever you want.

This has quite a few supplies (you might already have some in your stash), but the tutorial actually looks pretty simple and I think it’s adorable! Older kids would love these.

How adorable is this mini lounger? I can’t get over it. My daughter would probably love to watch TV on one of these loungers.
