If you’ve ever stopped by my blog before, you know I’m a huge DIY gifter. Not only do do-it-yourself gifts save money, I also find them to be really thoughtful. Every holiday I scour the internet for good DIY gift ideas – i.e. something I would actually be proud to give to someone and something that suits their personality/lifestyle; not something cheesy that I’m giving just because it was free or cheap to make.
Father’s Day is not immune to DIY gifting! Men are my favorite to find DIY gifts for, because believe it or not, there are some really great ideas out there. My husband, father, and father-in-law would genuinely like several of these ideas for Father’s Day. I think yours might too…
10 DIY Father’s Day Gifts
1. DIY suspenders, via A Beautiful Mess
I didn’t realize how easy these are to make. P.S. How adorable is that dude?
2. DIY valet tray, via BHG.com
My husband always has his stuff everywhere, and I’m a nerd for organization. Ergo, the perfect gift.
3. DIY chalkboard mug, via Wit and Whistle
I love giving mugs as a gift, and this one has a certain charm.
4. Father’s Day pillows, via Totally Love It
If dad’s got his own space like an office with a couch or a man cave, these pillows make a perfect addition.
5. Photo-backed clock, via BHG.com
This is simple to make and super sentimental.
6. DIY pajama pants, via Sew 4 Home
I’ve given pajama pants several times in the past; it’s always a welcomed gift!
7. DIY lap desk, via Brassy Apple or Stephanie at Home
My husband works in front of the TV all the time. I wish I had seen these tutorials before I went out and bought a lap desk!
8. Kid’s Drawing T-shirt for Dad, via Chez Beeper Bebe
Have your kids draw a picture with a caption and iron it onto a t-shirt. This kimono dragon one from Chez Beeper Bebe cracks me up!
9. Etched Beer Glasses, via Craftzine
It’s hard to see the etching in this photo, but it’s there! Etching glass is so ridiculously simple and I’ve been meaning to do it for a while now; Father’s Day might give me the perfect opportunity. P.S. You can probably find these glasses at the Dollar Store!
10. DIY BBQ kits, via The Mombot
I put together these kits for my dad and father-in-law last year. A DIY apron would go nicely with some homemade BBQ sauce or spice rubs, and some grilling utensils!
