Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and I am finding myself getting final preparations in order; making my grocery list, picking out my recipes, planning decor… it’s all part of the holiday fun!
Here’s a roundup of some of the things that I’m including in my Thanksgiving this year. If it’s sneaking up on you and you’re feeling unprepared, throw some of these ideas into play and you’ll be all set. See, you didn’t really need to stress, did you?
1. Roast turkey breast with sage stuffing from Curtis Stone
I saw Curtis Stone make this on TV and just about drooled on myself. Because there will only be 4 adults and 2 kids at our Thanksgiving this year, I decided to cook just a turkey breast instead of a whole bird and I’m taking the plunge and making stuffing from scratch for the first time. He just made it look so easy…
2. 15 things to do with Thanksgiving leftovers
I might actually die if I don’t get to eat one of these Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches… I mean, really, how delicious do they look?
3. Thanksgiving leftovers tags
Make sure you send everyone home with some of the leftovers (that is, after all, what makes for a good Thanksgiving host!). These printable tags/labels from my shop are the perfect way to label your leftovers so no one gets left out. For only $2, I say they are well worth the price.
4. Printable, colorable kid’s placemat
There’s nothing worse than kids underfoot when you’re trying to cook a meal. Keep them busy at the kid’s table with these coloring placemats! Prep ahead of time and get them printed at Staples for a couple of bucks. The bigger size will make all the difference.
5. Stuffing muffins
I had a hard time deciding between Curtis Stone’s homemade stuffing and these “stuffins.” Every time I see stuffing muffins, I somehow convince myself that they taste better than stuffing made in bulk.
6. Simple Thanksgiving banner
I love this adorable, simple “Thanksgiving” banner (not to mention the rest of her amazing decor). The banner would take about 30 minutes to make, which is about the length of my attention span.
7. Pumpkin cheesecake pie
I think I need a little something fancier than pumpkin pie this year; this may be just the thing.
