Mother’s Day is on its way, which means it’s time for another round-up of DIY gift ideas! I’ve seen some really great ones lately that I am excited to feature.
I particularly love the new take on the family tree made of butterflies, and the DIY clay pots for succulents – something I have never done, but it looks easy enough that I think I might try it!
I have family coming over for Easter and I own zero Easter decorations. I had so many hopes of creating some DIY decorations this year, but between work and Blissdom, it just didn’t happen. I did, however, manage to come up with a shabby-chic DIY centerpiece using items from Target and some trash… haha. I’m not joking.
I love coming up with new ideas for decorating Easter eggs. The process of dip-dyeing eggs each year can get a little boring, so I love the creative inspiration that the internet brings! Here are some of my favorite finds for decorating Easter eggs this year:
I am a sucker for the Oscars. I love the red carpet, I love the speeches, I love the celebrities – I love it all! Every year I announce to my husband that I will be occupying the TV for at least 4 hours on Oscar Sunday. He refuses to watch it with me because he’s a big ol’ party pooper, so this year I decided to invite some girlfriends over who I know will enjoy it with me. And I’m super excited!
A while back, I picked up some round and heart-shaped doilies in the $1 section at Target. I figured I would be able to find a cute way to use them for Valentine’s Day. I got started with some easy projects, and created doily candleholders and a doily mailbox (also purchased it the $1 section at Target):
You don’t always have to make a grand gesture on Valentine’s Day to let your man know you love him. Something tells me that spending some time doing one { or all } of these lovely little things will be just what he needs.
This weekend we celebrated Mia’s 3rd birthday. Not quite sure how that happened, but somehow an entire year has flown by since the vintage circus party. Our little girl loves to run and jump, laugh and dance, tell jokes and sing songs, and most of all, she loves watching Curious George.
When she wakes up in the morning, she wants to watch Curious George. When she wakes up from her afternoon nap, she wants to watch Curious George. Who am I kidding? All day long, she wants to watch Curious George. I know more about the man in the yellow hat than I do my own husband…
We’ve always had this huge empty space on the wall above our stove/oven, and for the last 3 years it’s housed only a simple rack from Ikea to hold our frying pans. Aside from it being an eyesore, it’s also a waste of space. Since our kitchen is tiny, I would love to build some open shelving to supplement our lack of cupboard space; but because we rent, I can’t.
I took some time this weekend to revamp the gallery wall in my living room and prep it for Valentine’s Day. The project included creating some new art, sewing a felt heart, drawing on glass with a dry erase marker, and whipping up some new embroidery hoop art. All in a day’s work (or two…). Here’s the result:
These little felt pouches are super simple and quick to make. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, they could be the perfect way to say “I love you.”
