So ever since I purchased some of those Ball vintage blue mason jars about 6 months ago, I’ve become obsessed with them. They are basically all we drink out of anymore, and I use them as vases and to store stuff and just to fill space when necessary because they always look good. But because I don’t actually use them for canning, I have tons of lids that just sit in my cupboard. Turns out, there’s quite a few things that I can make with them, and mason jar lid crafts are becoming rather trendy, too.
I’m kind of obsessing over the mason jar lid pumpkins that have been popping up all around the interwebs. Seems like the latest, greatest thing is making a pumpkin out of mason jar lids – and I approve.
If you search Pinterest, you will find a great many versions of the DIY mason jar lid pumpkin… some awesome, some, er, not so great. I’m going to go ahead and say that the key to a good mason jar lid pumpkin is to use as many lids as you can; because just a few lids looks a little lacking. So I’ve weeded through the options and found some of the cutest (in my opinion) mason jar lid pumpkins:
Orange mason jar lid pumpkin
Silver & gold mason jar lid pumpkin
Vintage farmhouse pumpkin
These are great for Halloween, but will also last you all the way through Thanksgiving (I’m all about long-lasting decor) – especially if you go with more of a rustic, shabby chic pumpkin like the ones above.
Mason jar Halloween wreath
But don’t forget about the mason jar lid Halloween wreath! I love this take on the average door wreath and I love washi tape, so it’s basically a win-win.
Mason jar lid Halloween magnets
You can also use mason jar lids to make some spooky Halloween magnets – I love these! I’m all about the creepy vintage Halloween decor vs. the kitschy orange/black/frankenstein look.
