If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen some posts and several stories where I share my outfit of the day (#ootd). I began sharing photos of what I was wearing at the start of 2018 for a few different reasons – but the most important one was as a challenge to myself.…
I’ve been bit hard by the decluttering bug and wanted to bring you along on the journey! With Lent just starting up this past Wednesday (the 14th), I have 2 goals: Devote time to prayer each day Declutter my home (this has nothing to do with my faith, but gives me an easy 40-day marker to…
I talked about my desire to simplify in 2017 when I blogged about my daughter’s birthday party and how I threw all the rules of today’s party-throwing society out the window. It was the opposite of Pinteresty and it was entirely put together with Target goods and Papa Murphy’s pizza. It was glorious. That’s just…
I can title this post as such because I consider myself to be one of those “lazy people” – particularly when it comes to memory keeping. I feel the draw to hold onto and preserve memories just as much as the next mom, but quite frankly I think our generation is putting WAY too much pressure on…
It was 2 1/2 years ago when my husband and I switched over to the cash envelope system to help us stay on budget. We are still going strong, although I can’t say we are sticklers. We both still carry credit cards and I often forget to bring my envelopes with me when I go…
Continuing on with our theme of getting organized for the new year, I decided I desperately needed a “To-Do” list that actually worked. My recipes have long been a complete MESS. I cook probably 5-6 nights a week and I rely heavily on my recipe binder and…
We’re pretty much all in the mood to organize right now, aren’t we? January and the start of a new year can easily do that to you. And because I’ve been bitten by the organization bug, I decided to do a short series this January on organizing different areas in your home and life. Up…
You might remember a couple of months ago when I shared photos of some rather inspiring playrooms and play areas here on the blog. I started researching them when I realized we were in serious need of a playroom for our older two kids; our house felt overwhelmed with toys and sometimes I just can’t deal with a 2 and a 4 year old running circles around our kitchen and living room, even if they are laughing and having fun. So creating a play area in the basement seemed like the most logical idea.
A few months back, I wrote a blog on different ideas for hanging photos and art without frames, since frames can be so expensive. Turns out, people really loved the idea of hanging art and photos without frames and it’s been a really popular post, so I decided to do a follow-up with nine more ideas…
