About 6 months ago, I purchased an old typing table from someone on Craigslist for a measly $5. I happened to come across it right after I decided to create a crafting corner in my bedroom and knew its tiny, yet expandable size was just what I needed. Last month, I put it on my list as one of the top 10 projects I wanted to finish in 2012. So here’s the big reveal!

Link Love: Organization for 2012
In addition to my top 10 DIY projects to complete in 2012, I am also resolving to continue organizing my small home in whatever way possible. We’ll soon be going from 3 to 4 in our family, and our space is ever-shrinking.
Here are some organization ideas I came across that I plan to implement:
Practical dressing for date night
Practicality. It’s what we moms are all about.
It seems as soon as we get married, we trade shopping at Nordstrom for shopping at H&M.
And when we start having kids, we trade shopping at H&M for shopping at Baby Gap. Quite frankly, we trade shopping for ourselves period for shopping for everyone else in the family.
Tips for throwing an affordable party

As soon as I had my daughter I was introduced to the wonderful world of children’s birthday parties. What happened to the days of an ice-cream cake, a couple balloons, and a friendly game of pin the tale on the donkey? It’s no longer an acceptable party unless you’ve got a theme, the proper décor, a spread of food that looks just as good as it tastes, and endless activities for the kids.
Ok, I’m not entirely immune. My daughter’s first birthday and second birthday were carefully planned and executed. I enjoyed creating a thematic party and crafting up a storm, but I also found that it can get so expensive! I “Martha Stewart” my way through most parties in order to save on décor, but then there’s the paper goods, the food, the favors… So how’s a modern mom supposed to stay afloat with today’s birthday party trends and do it on a dime?
Create free Valentine’s Day images from Snapfish
Snapfish has a great new service that makes creating unique Valentine’s Day photo collages and gifts a snap (pun intended).
I just came across their new photo suite, which allows you to pick one of three Valentine’s Day templates and add words, letters or drawings (depending on the template) to your own photos to create a V-day masterpiece.

For Mia’s 2nd birthday, we threw her a rousing vintage circus party.
Mia got into my coverup and rubbed it all over her face like a brush…
Fun in the photo booth at Mia’s party.
We took family photos to send out “Happy New Year” cards (because Christmas came a little too fast this year, and holiday cards just weren’t going to happen)
Mia’s cousin JJ came to visit from WA and the two had so much fun playing together; especially when he played guitar and she danced.
Mia’s two favorite birthday gifts: A vacuum cleaner, and a fur leopard vest. The two go so well together.
Happy 2nd birthday Mia!
