You guys, I finally finished up Graham’s nursery and got around to taking pictures of it. Luckily I finished before he graduated college (ok, he’s only 3 weeks old, so I’m sort of exaggerating). It was a really long process, and especially difficult because I was simultaneously working on a shared bedroom for our older two kids and I was all prego and tired. But praise Jesus, I finished (though there are always little things popping up that cause me to think, “Hey, I should do that in the nursery!”). Sometimes Pinterest is more of a hindrance than a help…
Well I guess it’s time to return to normal life. After a long week of moving out, traveling, and moving in, we are finally settling in and life is gaining back some sense of normalcy. Yesterday was the first time in a couple of weeks that I washed and folded laundry and it almost felt foreign to me (not that I’m complaining about two weeks without laundry).
Hear that? It’s a huge sigh of relief (and exhaustion) escaping my mouth. Our nursery if finally complete! And at 38 and a half weeks along, I’d say we finished just in time. Although Lincoln will probably sleep in our room for a little while when we first return from the hospital and therefore won’t need his nursery to be move-in-ready, I know I’ll lack the energy and motivation to finish once I have a newborn at home. So let’s take a little tour, shall we?
After making the hanging indoor tent, pallet toddler bed, and quilt, the rest was all in the details!
This white cabinet was something I found curbside for free. I didn’t know what I would use it for at the time (although I had an inkling it would be perfect for my little girl’s room one day), and it spent at least 6 months in our garage. After a good cleaning (it was FILTHY), I brought it in and starting filling it with goodies. Mia doesn’t have a dresser, so it gave us a place to put her folded clothes, cloth diapers, and other odds and ends.
I FINALLY finished updating my daughter’s room from a nursery to a “big-girl room” and I am thrilled to finally be showing it off (after lots of teaser posts).
My daughter, Mia, is closing in on the 2 1/2 year mark, and her baby brother is due in a mere 6 weeks, so it was time for her to have a more functional room for her age and to transition into a bed so we could move the crib into the new nursery.
I’m getting in the mood for Halloween (can you tell with all the Halloween posts I’ve been doing lately??), so I thought I’d share some photos of my “haunted” (or not so much) house. Here’s a peek at what’s going on in my home: I made this super-simple table runner with black fabric and strips…
