As Christmas draws near, I’ve got gifts for teachers on the brain. If you’ve read this post from last June, you already know that I am notorious for forgetting to pre-plan teacher gifts and end up scrambling the night before. I promised myself that this year I would get on the ball, so I am starting now! I’ve got one week of school left before my daughter is out for Christmas, so I am really ahead of the game compared to last year.
These pretty little things are the latest addition to my shop. While most of the items in my shop are printables, these are actually printed sets of 8 cards with matching envelopes; each professionally printed on quality brown kraft cardstock.
The inside is blank so you have plenty of room to express your gratitude. Don’t let the written word die out – a handwritten note is still the sweetest kind of gesture!
So because I’m in my own little world, it wasn’t until Tuesday morning when I woke up and starting checking my social media streams that I realized it was National Teacher Appreciation Day… oops. So I dropped my daughter off at Preschool and started brainstorming what I could pull together to bring with me three hours later when I picked her up.
In searching for “teacher appreciation gifts” on Pinterest, I came across a plant and tag that said “thanks for helping me grow…” and my wheels began to turn.
Did you hear? Target, Neiman Marcus and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) are celebrating 50 years of fashion by launching an exclusive line of 50 designer gifts available this holiday season at Target. Some of the hottest designers are taking part including Alice & Olivia, Jason Wu, Derek Lam, Carolina Herrera, Marchesa, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, Tracy Reese, and Tory Burch.
I don’t know about you, but my husband loves himself some baseball. As luck would have it, so do I, and we have lots of happy memories of attending Dodger games together (most of them before we had kids).
Father’s Day is so fun when you’re a new dad. I’m sure even the manliest of men can’t help but feel sentimental about their new role in life. I couldn’t really help but swoon when I saw this adorable photo of dad and baby cuddled up in a football blanket. It got me to thinking…
If you’ve ever stopped by my blog before, you know I’m a huge DIY gifter. Not only do do-it-yourself gifts save money, I also find them to be really thoughtful. Every holiday I scour the internet for good DIY gift ideas – i.e. something I would actually be proud to give to someone and something that suits their personality/lifestyle; not something cheesy that I’m giving just because it was free or cheap to make.
Today I finished up my Mother’s Day cards for my mom and mother-in-law, and I thought I would share them with you. Because I’m crazy and can’t do anything the easy way, I kind of went all out.
First, I had my daughter paint pictures for each of her grammies. The kid loves to paint, so it was a win-win. I also took pictures of her while painting and used PicFrame and Instagram on my iPhone to create a little photo collage. I printed the collage and sewed it to the front of each card so they could see how much love and labor my little one put into making their special cards.
Mother’s Day is a little over a week away and there are lots of free printables floating around the internet that would make for a great, frugal gift for mom! Some of these would make great gifts for grandma, and if it’s something you’d like, there’s still time to send the link to the Mr. (they often need our help, after all).
Here are some of my favorite free printables for Mother’s Day:
