Since Instagram is all the rage these days (by the way, you can follow me on Instagram here…), I decided to create a series of Instagram style birth announcements for my Etsy shop. Each announcement uses special photo filters to give your images that vintage look that Instagram is known for!
With a new camera lens and a new baby in the house, I’ve been snapping pictures like crazy. I had several poses I wanted to try with Lincoln, and spent a few different afternoons torturing him by placing him in ridiculous positions. Poor baby!
I’m feeling a bit sluggish these days… I’m 36 1/2 weeks pregnant; almost full-term, and most definitely exhausted. I have been lucky enough not to gain a whole lot of weight during pregnancy, but what I do gain goes straight to my belly. That means that I am carrying an extra 35 pounds in my midsection… that’s like toting my 2 1/2 year old around all day, every day on my belly. No wonder I’m exhausted!
Today I’m super excited to share my latest project in our nursery – starched fabric wall clouds. I only put these clouds on the two walls above the crib, and I’ll be using the same fabric to make some pillows and a cloud/airplane mobile. You can see some of the other ideas I have for the nursery in my inspiration board.
Putting the clouds on the walls was so simple; I used the starch techinque that is all over Pinterest. Have you seen it? The recipe and instructions are easy, and when you are done with the fabric, it peels right off the walls without leaving any damage – a perfect solution for renters!
I’m about 4 months away from welcoming my little man into the world, and nursery prep is in full swing. We have sooo much work to do, but I’ve been keeping all my dreams for the room organized so that we can pull it together quickly.
I thought I’d share my baby boy nursery mood board with you since I’m so excited about it. The color scheme will be centered around the Skip Hop Mod Dot bedding, which I found and immediately fell in love with. The wall behind the crib will feature fabric clouds, and there will be subtle additions of clouds, airplanes, and globes/maps around the room.
Yesterday was an exciting day in our house; we had our 18-week ultrasound and found out what we were having. Yes, it’s a baby; I’m talking about whether it’s a boy or girl, people.
Ever since I joined Pinterest, my eyes have been opened to so many new ideas and all the latest trends. I started realizing just how fun being pregnant can be with creative photos and parties (and how lame I was the first time around compared to all these other creative people).
You’re all in for a treat today because my good friend, Michelle, from Just Watching My Garden Grow is here to share with us a tutorial for her recent gender reveal. Michelle is pregnant with baby #3, and despite being a teacher and taking care of her family, she also finds time to craft on a regular basis; and, she ‘s one of the craftiest ladies I know! So take it away, Michelle…
How could I not have the baby bug after looking at these cute nursery photos? Right now I’m stuck on two trends: colorful, vintage inspired nurseries, and muted color palettes with soft pastel accents.
Oh how I long for an adorable nursery with a cozy, sweet-smelling little baby to put in it!
