The weather’s been a bit wonky lately; it will be nice and warm (in the 50s & 60s, and sometimes even hit 70!) and then it will drop back down to the 20s and start snowing. Aside from making the outdoors a constant merry-go-round of ice and mud, the schizophrenic weather is really messing with my wardrobe.
For instance, a couple of weeks ago, I wore an adorable spaghetti-strap jumpsuit that stopped mid-shins, and covered it with a long sleeve sweater. It was so nice and warm the day before and I figured a little shin and open-toed shoe would be sufficient for the day. But when I got to church, it was freezing. Like, really freezing. And it was colder when I left church than when I arrived… Here I was in a spring outfit and the winter weather was mocking me. Ugh.
So each day is a new challenge, and I’ve decided to slowly ease into spring by just showing some ankle – and leaving the rest covered. Since there’s snow on the ground and I can’t take pictures out in the cold, I’ve been reduced to bedroom selfies. I suppose I could at least get my DSLR out and have some decent camera quality…
Nevertheless, here are a couple of shots of outfits from this week:
Pixie pants (or cigarette pants, if you prefer) paired with a chambray top and suede pointed flats worked well for the Mom’s Tea that I attended at my daughter’s preschool. I also had some new triangle earrings that I bought at Forever21 for $1.90. Don’t you just love cheap jewelry?

This “love” sweater is old news (like, really old news – see? – and OMG, that hair!). But I consider it an oldy, but a goody. This is my go-to errand running outfit. These white shoes that I bought at Target for $16 (still there, hanging on their back wall with all the other tennies) have somehow managed to stay white. They are perfectly comfortable, too. I may have to switch them out for snow boots later this afternoon because we apparently have snow on the way, but for now I’m rockin the naked ankle.
