I love, love, love sweater dresses in the fall and winter. They are so easy to throw on, look great with boots and tights, and are comfy enough to make me feel like I’m wearing a blanket (what could be better for a mom?).
Buying a classic style will ensure that your sweater dress will last you a few seasons, and it’s a completely thoughtless outfit to throw on when you’re clueless about what to wear. I’ve had this cowlneck sweater dress for a few years now, and I’ve even worn it pregnant (that’s the beauty of knits – they stretch).
Here’s some other sweater dresses floating around the web that I’m loving:
1. I love this cream sweater dress that Emily wore on Let’s Talk Trunk this week. I especially love how she paired it with leggings and tall boots.
2. This sweater dress tunic on Etsy looks so cozy; it reminds me of a long sweatshirt. I’m also loving the welt pockets.
3. I’m really obsessed with this tight fitting sweater dress found on musingsinfemininity.tumblr.com (can’t stop looking at all the pretty pictures on this site, by the way…), but I think half the reason is the gorgeous model and her pixie cut that I completely covet. Pretty sure I wouldn’t look half as cute in it as she does.
4. I’ve never been a huge fan of FairIsle knits, but for some reason this year I’m all over it. That’s why I’m drawn to this sweater dress from Free People. At $228, I could never afford it… but there’s no harm in staring and drooling for a moment or two (and then finding a cheaper version elsewhere, cause that’s how I roll). P.S. I love pockets in dresses.
Darn. Now I want to go shopping.
