Last week I posted about possible gift ideas for teachers. After I gathered all my ideas, I went to work creating something for Mia’s Preschool teachers. I wanted to give them something both fun and functional, and I decided to make it a “thank you” gift of sorts.
The three elements I decided to include were homemade cookies, moisturizing handwash, and a little notebook. Each item served its own purpose and was directly related to something I wanted to thank them for (well, the cookies were really just because cookies are delicious, but I made it work with the “thank you” theme). I made tags for each item and tied them on with baker’s twine, then put the entire gift into a little bread baking box.
Cookies were an important piece of the puzzle. I used this recipe that I found on Pinterest (which is AMAZING) and got the cute saying for the tag from a gift featured in my Teacher’s Gifts post last week.
Mia’s teachers have very strict handwashing rules, and because of this, I know their poor chapped hands really suffer. They wash so many times a day, but I am SO thankful because Mia has been quite healthy since starting school in the fall. I found these bottles of moisturizing handwash at the Dollar Tree and figured they would be appreciated.
These cute little notebooks were purchased as a 3-pack from Target for $3.99. They are one of my favorite gifts to give (who can’t use a notebook?) and I’ve used them several times in the past. I know the teachers keep notes on each child and track their progress throughout the year, so this was a way to thank them for that and also give them a functional gift.
The final gift was packaged in bread boxes that were purchased at Michaels and the cute little clothespins that I used to attach the teacher’s name and Mia’s signature were found as a 6-pack in the $1 section at Michaels as well. I thought they were adorable and served as the perfect final touch.
I am super proud of myself for thinking ahead and delivering these gifts on time, despite the busy-ness of the holidays. Hooray for me!
