So because I’m in my own little world, it wasn’t until Tuesday morning when I woke up and starting checking my social media streams that I realized it was National Teacher Appreciation Day… oops. So I dropped my daughter off at Preschool and started brainstorming what I could pull together to bring with me three hours later when I picked her up.
In searching for “teacher appreciation gifts” on Pinterest, I came across a plant and tag that said “thanks for helping me grow…” and my wheels began to turn.
I’ve already got plenty of succulents in the back yard that I could use as a plant, so I headed to the Dollar Tree to find something cute to plant them in. I was so excited to see that they had these adorable mini watering cans – perfect! I brought them home, planted my pre-existing succulents and made a quick tag in Photoshop. Phew. Pinterest saves the day again.
Truthfully, succulents make a great gift for any occasion and they look adorable planted in just about anything (even a tin can with some jute string). They might even make the perfect last-minute Mother’s Day gift – the “thanks for helping me grow” tag actually works for that occasion as well.
If you’d like, you can right-click and download the tag I made below to print and use.
How-to:
- Right-click image above and “Save As” to your computer.
- Open in photo/image software and print on cardstock. Final tag size should be 2.25″ x 1″.
- Make two horizontal cuts to the left of the wording with an X-acto knife (don’t get too close to edges of tag or it will tear when you skewer it).
- Cut a bamboo skewer in half with scissors and thread through the cuts.
- Stick in planter.
