Like it or not, the holidays are fast approaching! I, myself, am starting to compile my gift list for friends and family and strategically plan for Christmas. So in honor of saving money during the holiday season and planning ahead, I’m starting a new series!

Holidays with Martha: Thanksgiving table decor
I really love Martha Stewart. Really. The lady is super-crafty, knows her way around the kitchen, and loves to boss people around and tell them when they’re doing things wrong on television. It’s hilarious.
What I’m loving: Leatherette jackets
I love a good, cheap leatherette (faux leather) jacket. They last you a season or two, and they’re usually under $50. One day I’ll splurge on an awesome $250 leather jacket that I can wear for years, but for now, my budget loves leatherette.
Ribbon-covered clothespins
I am still recovering from our weekend road trip, where we drove 5 hours each way to visit family. Although we had a good time, traveling that far with a toddler and a ten-week fetus inside you is no easy task. Luckily my toddler did quite well, and I managed not to barf in the car (I’m being overly-dramatic; luckily I haven’t gotten sick yet, although I am nauseous most of the day).
I’ve got a little secret…

And I’m really tired. And nauseous.
