I can hardly believe it, but Graham is already 5 weeks old. Anyone who’s had a child knows how quickly time flies when all you want it to do is stand still (and then there are the days when you are in the midst of potty training or sleep training and you wish that the days and weeks would scoot on by a little quicker…).
Right now, I am savoring every moment with this precious boy. He is likely our last and I don’t want to forget the goodness of every inch of our squishy little baby. That’s one reason why I am treasuring these newborn photos; his naked little tushie will be immortalized in print – hooray!
I was excited to try my hand at newborn photography with this baby. Although I took pictures of Lincoln as a newborn, they were sort of nontraditional and I feel like I’ve learned so much about photography since then. So I read up on how to pose newborns and some tips on getting good photos and went to work.
I admit, I am easily frustrated when babies don’t cooperate, so these pictures were taken over a couple of weeks at many different times – each session lasting about 5 minutes and with me drenched in sweat by the end of it from posing, shushing, changing clothes, cleaning up poop and pee (non-diaper photos may be cute, but man are they a bad idea) and getting generally frustrated. Good times!
In any event, I think I got some winners. Here’s a sneak peak at some of my favorites:
