It’s been awfully quiet here this week, but rest assured – I am still alive.
It’s been a whirlwind of a weekend/week on our journey to move to Colorado (if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen pictoral evidence that I’m still alive – at least there’s always time for posting photos!).
- Saturday= packing, going away party
- Sunday= packing up trailer, moving into mom & dad’s house
- Monday= cleaning rental, finishing packing trailer, trailer picked up, spa and dinner with girlfriends
- Tuesday= finish cleaning rental, catch up on some work, stop to say goodbye to close friends, dinner with parents-in-law
- Wednesday= husband leaves for long solo drive to CO (he has already arrived safely), pick up dad at airport who is returning from vacation, more work catch up
Today I’ll be doing more work and final prep for the move, which FINALLY culminates tomorrow night when I fly with the two kiddos and my dad to Colorado. Phew, I will be so glad when it’s over.
At the moment, I am tying up loose ends (like calling to find out when the couch I want for the new house will be in stock – you know, super important things) and trying to work when I can while also keeping my kids from destroying my parents non-child-proofed house. Lincoln won’t stop pulling pans out of the kitchen cabinets and standing in them (?), and Mia has put her baby down for a nap in every conceivable and inconvenient spot, like on top of the toilet seat and in front of the front door.
And I have to plug in to use the internet, which is new to my wifi-spoiled self. Since the internet in is the room where my daughter is sleeping, it means no work or internet past 8:00 p.m. It all feels so wrong.
To keep myself sane, I am trying to joyfully search for ideas to decorate the new house. So because I have nothing better to say, here are some pretty pictures that I am drawing inspiration from.
Marquee letters for the living room – a must.
Hanging succulents for the patio.
Upcycled mint chair. I have the perfect chair to use this on…
DIY industrial desk with pipes and plywood – this will be the first thing we DIY after we move!
Backyard porch cover. Pretty sure our new patio isn’t covered, so this would be perfect.
Talk to you soon. Next time I do, I will officially be a Colorado-ite … Colorado-an?… Coloradian? Sigh. You know what I mean.
