Post sponsored by Mom & Pop Photo School – easy photography courses for parents
Every holiday seems like a whirlwind, and by the time you remember to pick up your camera, the kids are just about ready for bed (at least that’s what always happens to me). I find it super helpful to have a checklist handy before going into the day so that I will remember to get some decent photos BEFORE the kids are covered in food and dirt and I looked disheveled and drooled on.
Don’t let another Mother’s Day go by without getting some great pictures of you, you and the kids, special moments and memories, and perhaps even one with dad (maybe…). Take this opportunity to snap some shots that you don’t normally get – sweet moments like reading together, snuggling on the couch, etc.
I came up with this printable checklist of 30 photos to take on Mother’s Day; refer to it throughout the day so you won’t be left wishing you had actually picked up the camera. There’s also lots of examples of the photo prompts below, just to get your creative juices flowing.
Have fun playing with your camera settings, perspectives, lighting, poses, and props. Lots of shots of you smiling and looking at the camera get old after a while – so mix it up!

Want to learn how to use your DSLR camera?
I know so many moms who own DSLR cameras, but don’t know how to shoot on anything but automatic. Shooting on manual gives you so many more options, and it doesn’t have to be as difficult as you might think to learn. If you’ve been wanting to take your photos to the next level, you might want to consider Mom & Pop Photo School; they offer self-paced photography classes that you download to your computer, smart phone or tablet. Learn and practice when you have time, and then join their lab or a local Photo crew to discuss and ask questions. It’s the easiest, most convenient way to learn how to improve your photos as a busy mom (or pop).
