I can’t help myself; I am utterly and completely obsessed with midi skirts. I recall having a similar obsession last year, but I never really took the plunge and embraced it. This year, however, I am madly pinning inspiration pics and scouring websites because I can’t get this trend out of my head. I mean, just look at these ladies…

It is the perfect trend for that winter to spring transition, because most midis look fabulous with a pair of knee high boots and a sweater, as well as a t-shirt and flats. I’m hoping that by investing in a couple of great skirts, I can get months of wear out of them and tons of outfit options.
Aside from the obvious girly/1950s vibe that you get with a full skirt and heels, I am also loving that you can modernize the look by wearing it with a tucked in t-shirt and some sandals or flats. And if you’re really feeling sporty (and saucy), try one with a pair of tennis shoes!
I am thinking I’ll get the most wear out of a button-front midi that has a vintage vibe (like this one) and maybe a simple relaxed version (like this or this) that I can pair with a t-shirt. If I worked in an office, I would be all about the full circle skirt, but I know I wouldn’t get much wear out of one at home… with the kids… where I get barfed on a lot.
