It’s my first What I Wore Wednesday in many, many months and it feels so good! It’s too cold in the winter in Colorado to take pictures outside (obviously), and my house has terrible lighting inside, so I just stopped taking pictures altogether at the end of November. Plus I am super lazy, so there’s that. But it’s warming up outside and the sun is shining today, so I figured I would take advantage!
Not much has changed in the last few months when it comes to my wardrobe, though I did pick up a couple new pairs of boots (including the ones in this post) and a few new shirts on clearance at Gap and J.Crew. Oh how I love winter clearance!
This sweatshirt from J.Crew was on sale and I got an additional 50% off the sale price, making it only $22.50. The downside was that it was a final sale item and I was purchasing online, so I had no idea if it was going to fit or if I would like it. I breathed a huge sigh of relief when it came and I tried it on. It’s nothing special, but it’s got a little something extra when compared to your average sweatshirt (tangent: Do you remember the Hanes sweatshirts and sweatpants we used to buy at Kmart and wear as kids? In matching colors, of course. Ah, those were the days).
I love the piecing of the striped fabric and the zipper detail on the back. This sweatshirt is my go-to these days for when I want to be comfortable but don’t want to look like a slob. It works.
(That’s my favorite nursing cami from Undercover Mama peeking out from under the sweatshirt)
My fringe boots were a total impulse purchase. I had actually been wanting some Minnetonkas that looked very similar, but I saw these on the deal website PSIAdoreYou.com for only $24.99 and decided to go for it. To my surprise, they are quite comfortable and feel more like slippers than shoes (and who can complain about that?).
I asked my husband what he thought and he said they “weren’t me.” Well, I beg to differ, sir. True, if you had asked me 3 years ago if I would purchase fringe boots I would have said, “heck no.” But I am strangely drawn to fringe at the moment… so I am going with it.
I’ve also been trying to figure out what to do with my hair these days. I am working on growing it into a short bob, but I recently went in for a trim and returned with shorter hair than anticipated. I was used to working with it where it was and now I’m back to square one. So on dirty hair days, I curl it with my skinny flat iron and go with the messy I-didn’t-wash-my-hair-today look. Don’t judge me.
