The weather is finally cooling off here and so I’m starting to transition my wardrobe from summer into fall. The easiest way to do this I find is with sweaters and tights, which pair nicely with summer dresses. And of course I bust out the boots – lots and lots of boots.
It’s not quite chunky sweater and thick tights weather just yet in Denver, but I took this dress that I bought on clearance at Target and covered it with a light sweater for church this past Sunday – and I was sure to add some booties to the mix. Of course, by the time we got out of church it was 80 degrees outside, but that’s beside the point.
I am not usually a Target clothes shopper, but I have been scoring some great clearance deals there lately and it’s keeping me coming back for more. This hi-low dress was only $12 (as was this adorable chiffon peplum top that I bought the same day); it got me through some very hot 90-degree days here in Colorado, right before the rain and floods hit.
Then the other day, I was perusing the shoe aisle (you know, just because) and I happened upon these fringe wedge booties that were “As Is” for only $10 (originally $40) in my size. I looked them over 300 times just to be sure they were OK and determined the “As Is” tag is because they were most likely bought and returned and without a box. I didn’t care because they were adorable and only $10.
So that’s how this outfit happened. I am dying to wear my booties with some tights this fall or perhaps some black leggings and a heavy sweater.
Oh yes, I also bleached my hair last week. Thoughts? It was rather uncharacteristic of me and I still haven’t decided whether I like itβ¦ I think it’s a bit harsh for my complexion. But then, am I ever really happy with my hair for more than a week? No, not really.
