Confession: I am in love with a pair of shoes.
This is so not me; I rarely buy shoes. I would rather spend my money on clothes, and that’s how it usually happens. But in an effort to put together the perfect outfit for our upcoming family photos, I purchased these little ladies. And, um, I love them.
I paired them with my new bright yellow top from Anthropologie. Bright colors and I have never been friends… until recently. I purchased a neon yellow thermal from The Gap last fall because I saw it in an ad as a layering piece and loved the look. After I bought it, I discovered that I could wear it under just about anything {like this dress}, but that I also loved the bright yellow worn on its own – who knew? I thought that something so “look at me!” would freak me out, but I was wrong. Proof that sometimes you just need to take risks!
This outfit just kind of manifested itself one day while I was pulling this and that out of the closet, and I went with it. To keep it casual, I tucked my shirt in sort of haphazardly in the front and back, and I rolled up my jeans so my booties would be front and center. It was perfect for a warm summer night; although next time i will find some socks to wear in my booties so my feet don’t sweat… TMI? Oops, sorry.
P.S. Sorry my necklace is backwards in all the pictures… When I opened the photos on my computer and saw it, I told my husband that he didn’t give me any direction while taking the photos. He (quite lovingly) reminded me that he is not a photographer. Touche, Mr. Taylor, touche. When you’re a honey-i-need-you-to-take-my-picture-so-i-can-blog-about-it beggar, I guess you can’t be a chooser.
