Lace garments and insets were a big trend on the spring runways, seen in shows like Carolina Herrera and Jason Wu. It makes sense; the romanticism and femininity that lace evokes is the perfect accompaniment to the budding spring season where hemlines rise and bare shoulders reappear.
So when I came across this top at Kohl’s by LC Lauren Conrad, I was excited to see that it was 30% off and right on trend. I knew I had the perfect skirt to pair it with – not that it won’t also look killer with jeans or my leather leggings (which I wear when I’m feeling spunky). I decided to leave the leather leggings at home and wear it with my DownEast Basics plaid skirt to church this last Sunday for a sweet, feminine look (I even wore pearl earrings).

Are you ready to add some lace to your wardrobe?
- One of the biggest trends right now is lace shorts and there are tons of cute ones to choose from. I love these ones from Nordstrom by Two by Vince Camuto that have the added detail of pleating. You can also get a cheaper pair of high-waisted lace shorts at Forever21 for only $19.80.
-
Lace inset tops are also popping up everywhere. I love this lace blouse from NastyGal.com ($42) that could easily be worn with ripped jeans on the weekend or tucked into a pencil skirt for the office.
- And I am completely in love with the lace bomber jacket by Nanette Lepore for JCPenney! What a perfect coverup for spring – and it’s only $30! I might just be making a pit-stop at the mall tomorrow…
