Last night I attended an event at my local DownEast Basics for bloggers and went on the hunt for a new outfit. I love the detailing on some of their tops and sweaters, and their full knee-length skirts are a great staple to have in your closet.
I ended up being stuck between a choice of two outfits – should I go librarian or ladies’ luncheon chic?
In the end, I decided on librarian… I guess I was feeling a little bit nerdy. The skirt was on sale for $25 (woot! Woot!), and the cardi was $36 – a great price considering the lace work down the front. Plus, we all know how much I love the color mustard.
I totally loved the look of the dress too, priced at $42.99 (the belt is my own). The fit was excellent, but I had that “mom” moment of wondering how often I would wear it since I rarely find the occasion to dress up. I’m beginning to think we need to create these occasions for ourselves instead of complaining that there aren’t enough of them…
p.s. Sorry for the poor lighting… why do dressing rooms always have the worst lighting? You would think they would want to make us look better, not worse.
