It could be because it’s been so cold out lately, or maybe it’s because I’m almost 4 months pregnant, but the only thing I want to wear these days are sweatpants…
Unfortunately I own mostly jeans, and due to the expanding belly, I have to wear them with a bellaband, unbuttoned and (lately) unzipped. It’s not the most comfortable thing to wear; especially when you spend a lot of time sitting in front of the computer. My poor baby is probably begging for some less restricted space.
Anywhoo, lucky for me, there are plenty of stylish options for sweatpants these days. Yes, you heard me, sweatpants can totally be cool and appropriate for moms. Here are some of my favorite options; all of which are on my Christmas list – Mom? Husband? Are you reading this? This fat lady needs some sweatpants.
J.Crew saturday pants and lazy day pants
J.Crew makes sweatpants cool by changing their name to “Saturday pants” (#1) – as if that’s fooling anyone. They also gave them a skinny fit, so you can honestly wear them as regular pants outside of the house – I just wouldn’t go wearing them to work. Select colors are on sale for only $49.50.
Don’t like the skinny leg look? Then check out the Ultra-knit lazy-day pant (#2). Perfect for lounging or running errands. $49.50
Anthropologie fleece-lined leggings
Though not exactly sweatpants, these leggings come with a bit of luxury built in – fleece lining. I’ve been wearing leggings just as much as sweatpants lately – stretch can be your friend. Nothing would make me happier than to have a pair with some cozy fleece lining. $18 at Anthropologie.
Forever21 french terry sweatpants
On a budget? Have no fear. Forever21 comes through again with these French terry sweatpants for only $12.80. The tighter fit is much more fashionable than your average sweatpant and the elastic waistband equals heaven (some would say…).
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go put on my ugly sweatpants and hope that Santa has read this post.
