Merry Christmas, friends!
In case you didn’t get a glimpse of our Christmas card on Facebook or Instagram, we used it to share a bit of Taylor family news.
2014 will bring another beautiful child to our family! We are very excited and still trying to wrap our heads around it. Baby #3 was discussed several times and we knew that if we were going to do it, we wanted to do it soon so that the kids were all close in age. However, the pregnancy came out of nowhere and was not exactly planned – oops!
After being sort of scared out of my mind (since we did just move to a new place away from all our friends and family – a.k.a. support system), I finally let the idea sink in and was glad that God made the choice for us so we didn’t have to debate about “should we?” or “shouldn’t we?” anymore.
The thought of bringing another little one into the world is so thrilling to me, and I can’t wait to hold that little bundle! Getting used to the idea of being pregnant for nine months, however, was another story. I hated every minute of my first trimester! Now that I am over the hump and feeling less barfy, things are looking up. I should start feeling the baby move soon and we will find out the sex in about 6 weeks – and I think that’s when things get fun!
Anyway, back to the Christmas card… I made my poor family stand outside in single digit temps to get this photo. Of course, I knew what I wanted to do, so I knew we had to take our coats off so that I could draw on our tummies. I wanted to get a picture with snow on the ground, and Christmas was growing closer, so I chose this ridiculously cold day and promised everyone it would be quick. We only got three photos in (using a tripod and self-timer) and only the first one was usable. Lincoln was crying in the other two (probably because the poor kid was freezing).
After the third click, the Mr. and I ran and grabbed their coats and bundled them up and ran back to the house (this is at the edge of our complex). Mia decided it was a good idea to walk through the deepest part of the snow and fell forward, getting her bare hands in the snow and screaming at the top of her lungs. It was kind of a funny moment for me, even though the kids were crying and my husband was stressed out.
Everyone survived the Christmas card photo of 2013.
I hope your 2014 will bring many blessings, many challenges, and lots of growth. Try something new, learn something new and become someone better than you were in 2013!
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
