I must admit, I’m getting excited for the 4th of July. Every year we go to a friend’s house and relax while the kids play in the water, eat popsicles, and have fun. We always have a huge spread of food – including a yummy BBQ – followed by a backyard fireworks show for the kids { see last year }.
The entire day evokes the unmistakable feeling of summer; from the smell of sunscreen and charcoal to the sound of the children laughing to the soul-feeding time with friends.
Now that our kids are getting older, it’s even more enjoyable. They are more self-sufficient (which means mommy can spend more time stuffing her face and less time asking, “where’s my child?”), and able to enjoy the holiday on a different level. Because of this, I began searching for some fun activities and crafts that they can do to stay occupied this Fourth of July and help them celebrate our day of Independence in their own way.
I came across some great finds, and put together a little round-up for you all! So here we go…
