As you know, I try to recycle, reduce, and reuse as much as possible. Not only does it save money, but it creates a cleaner, safer environment for our kids and future generations to live in. I’m not super crazy when it comes to going green, but I think there are simple, practical ways that everybody can make small changes in their life.
This week, I was inspired by just a couple of ideas that I found on Pinterest. Check them out:
It’s happened again. Colored jeans seems to go in and out every few seasons, and it looks like they are “in” once again. I’ve always had a hard time jumping on the bandwagon, because all I can think about are the awful dark green ones I had in elementary school that I wore with a hideous floral child-size onesie… (remember when those stretchy bodysuits were in style? The ones that snapped at the crotch? Why did anyone think it was ok to wear a onesie passed the age of toddlerhood? But I digress…)
I love this recent post from Holly over at decor8blog.com that highlights home décor trends in Europe and America. Holly is an American journalist and interior design consultant who currently lives in Germany, so she’s pretty much got the skinny on what’s happening in homes around the world.
I’m not sure if I can claim photography as a true hobby, but I definitely aspire to be a better photographer and practice often. I took a photography class a couple of years ago that taught me a lot about lighting, perspective, and developing photos. We actually had to step into a darkroom and develop film, which seems a little archaic these days; and although it wasn’t my favorite part of the process, it taught me a lot about the creative elements of a photograph.
4th of July will be here in just a couple of days, and if you’re finding yourself in a pinch in terms of décor and ideas, there’s still time! Check out the goodies featured in my first roundup of July 4th ideas (which included some great pinwheels, decorations, food & fashion ideas), and then see some of the fun below. A weekend is plenty of time to prepare for a big 4th of July bash!
I am a pretty big fan of summertime, and now that I have a child, I am even more excited to introduce her to fun summer activities and create some memories. For those of you with kids in school, it’s not a shocker to anyone to admit that they can drive you a little nuts when they’re home 24/7 (no judgments here).
So this post goes out to all the moms… Here’s a roundup of some fun activities to keep you and the kiddos occupied and happy this summer!
Here comes the 4th! I love the 4th of July; it’s usually full of good food, good friends, and good fireworks. Plus (and call me sentimental, if you will), I love the unity that patriotism brings, and knowing that people all over the country are celebrating for the same reason.
Anywhoo, if you’re throwing a 4th of July party or are just looking for ways to amp up the patriotism in your household, here’s a round-up of some great decorations, printables, and ideas!
Father’s Day will be here in a little over a week. To help you prepare, I’ve rounded up some fun Father’s Day gifts, cards, and printables to help your family celebrate the man you love most (because, let’s face it, he deserves it!).
With summer on the way, DIY projects seem like a great way to fill the long, relaxing days (who am I kidding, when was the last time one of my days was relaxing?).
I have a growing list of things I want to make for the house… perhaps I will get to at least one of them in the coming months. Here’s a couple of things on my summer DIY list:
