I’ve slowly been accumulating hats ever since we moved to Colorado. It tends to get super windy out of nowhere and I HATE the wind; for several reasons, really – like it gives me a headache, but also because it messes up my hair (duh).
Um, you guys. If there is one new recipe you try this weekend, make it this one. This honey sesame chicken in the crockpot is SO good and SO easy. (source) Holy. cow. I decided to make it because I needed a quick, easy meal that could cook while we were out of the house.…
A few weeks ago, I talked about how I started making some of my own maternity clothes because I just wasn’t finding cute ones in the store. I got excited when I saw this cute knee-length, over-the-bump skirt on Cotton and Curls and decided to give it a go. I’m not gonna lie, this skirt…
I have a feeling Easter will be here before we know it. I am hoping to be on top of it this year and start gathering Easter basket goodies now and prepping Easter cards, but good intentions aren’t always enough… In any event, I did get a new Easter card up in my Etsy shop that would be perfect to showcase your little bunnies:
For those of you that have followed along for a bit, you may know that we made a big move last August from California to Colorado (read about the journey here). It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but also one of the most exciting. We moved away from all our friends and family to a place where we didn’t know a soul (save for some of my husband’s new coworkers), and it was a huge transition and time of growth for me personally and for our family as a whole.
Hopefully you were able to catch some of the “Capture the Little Moments” series here on the blog last month. I had a great time featuring some of my favorite photographers, sharing their knowledge with you and participating in a month-long photo challenge that produced some awesome, memorable photographs.
After I found the tutorial for the DIY maxi skirt that I featured last week, I started hunting for more DIY maternity clothing tutorials and got nerdily excited to start making some of my own clothes. I found this top on DIYMaternity.com and loved the mix of solid color and floral print. { source: diymaternity.com }…
What is with the nightmares that preschoolers get? I can’t even begin to tell you about the things my poor 4-year-old daughter has dreamt about. Things that I don’t think she has ever seen on TV or read in a book. Scary things that are somehow created in her imagination in the middle of the night.
We are on a little getaway right now in California, which makes me so happy. Not only do we get to visit friends and family, whom we moved away from 6 months ago, but we get to enjoy 80 degree weather as we are still hurdling our way through our first real winter in Colorado.…
Most of the moms in our generation feel the pressure and perhaps the natural pull to want to capture the life of our kids in ways that our parents never did. You know what I mean; for instance, I have a baby book, but there’s nothing written in it except my name, and pictures of me as a baby are scarce (the second child always gets forgotten – and yes, that’s second child angst speaking). But our generation of moms is one of fancy photobooks, Facebook photo sharing, and camera and video smartphones that not only capture moments, but GPS coordinates if you so choose.
