What a whirlwind of a week. I feel so out of sorts!
Last Monday, June 16, I gave birth to our third child, Graham. It felt different than the previous two and I’m not entirely sure why. Perhaps because I’m older and wiser now (haha) or maybe because I knew it was going to be my last.
In my quest to find artwork for baby #3’s nursery, I kept coming across this “Bind My Wandering Heart to Thee” wooden art on Pinterest: { inspiration picture via ontobaby.com } I loved that it is both a bible verse and fits the arrow/tribal theme I’ve got going in the nursery. I figured it would…
Our little man turned two this last week. Hard to believe. Luckily the day came and went and I didn’t go into labor, so he is safe from having to share his birthday with his soon-to-join-us brother. Although they will probably have joint parties for years to come. Sorry, boys.
I was a little wary when I put this little black dress on the other day. But it was hot out and I am running out of maternity dresses to wear, so comfort and necessity won over me feeling like I was obviously smuggling a beach ball under a normal dress. You want to show…
On Friday, I had a good 3 to 4 hours of contractions. They were actually quite uncomfortable and at times were only 2 minutes apart. But instead of calling my husband at work and telling him, “It’s time!,” I called him and told him to come home and help me with the kids because I couldn’t do much but sit on the couch and deal with my belly.
source: RachaelRayShow.com I’ve been getting Rachael Ray EveryDay magazine for quite few years now and I’m pretty sure I will never cancel my subscription. I don’t have time to watch her show, but I can flip through a magazine and tear out a recipe that looks good in 5 minutes flat. She’s taught me how to…
It’s going to be 80+ degrees today in Colorado (and all this week, actually), and it’s really got me itching for the official start of summer. After all my years living in California, I never really considered myself a beach girl or a “Cali girl” – my pale, melanoma-prone skin wouldn’t really allow for that sunkissed tan… but I think moving away from there and to a place with actual seasons has made me truly appreciate the warm weather and the feeling of the sun on my skin (especially after a long winter).
Grab a cup of coffee and let’s get real. Here’s some ramblings of what’s been on my mind lately (warning: it’s all over the place. I blame hormones.)
Things have been very quiet around the blog lately. Between planning for our 3rd baby, keeping up with my Etsy shop and doing some freelance work, I haven’t had much time to devote to blogging.
The Mr. and I were talking the other day about how things change over time. When I started this blog a little over 3 years ago, I had every intention of becoming a big-time blogger who earns an income from it. Over time, I learned that many of the ways necessary to make an income from blogging were not paths I wanted to take or really felt passionate about. I also opened my Etsy shop during that time and saw success from the more time and effort I put into it, and I have fallen in love with making that my career over the last year and a half.
As the end of the school year is approaching, it’s time to start thinking about gifts for our much-deserving teachers. My daughter’s preschool teachers work so hard and love their kids so much, and they definitely deserve something special! This year I am on the Preschool board and have offered to help with end-of-the-year gifts from the entire class, and I’m trying to come up with something worthy of such wonderful people.
Months ago, I pinned the plans for a DIY bunk bed from Ana White, knowing there might be a day when I would need them. I loved the fact that it was open underneath, allowing room for another bed or play area, and the stairs were a unique feature that I hadn’t seen before. As…
