As much as love the change of seasons in Colorado, there is nothing like that time of year around April/May when the sun starts warming everything up and you step outside into the heat of the day. I’m a bit of a lizard in that I love the feel of the sun on my skin! Of course, I am also a hermit and hide from the sun because of my fair complexion, because, well, safety first. But man do I love soaking up 10 minutes of pure vitamin D!

Spring can be nice and warm here sometimes, as was the case on this day. It was in the mid 70’s, which can feel like the mid 80’s or 90’s when the Colorado sun is shining on you for long enough. I pulled out this little black dress that I bought at Old Navy a few weeks back and some espadrilles that haven’t seen the light of day since last summer and stepped out for church into a gorgeous day. The warmth from the sun on my bare shoulders was absolute heaven (I told you, I’m a lizard)!
Summer is on the horizon and I can’t wait. There’s nothing like a good summer dress that you can throw on with a pair of sandals and some lipstick – it’s instant style with minimal effort; and that’s precisely why summer might be the best season of all.
