I missed What I Wore Wednesday because of Halloween, so I decided on a whim that today will temporarily be “Fashion Friday.” So here’s what I wore this week:

This is a good example of how I mix the old with the new… Although I like to shop, I don’t always get rid of my old stuff. Some of it sticks around for quite a long time. For instance, the thermal, boots, and jeans are all at least two years old. My poor jeans are so loved that I just recently busted through both knees from overuse. Yes, I feel like I’m channeling Debbie Gibson circa 1992, and no, I don’t think they look cool. I guess it’s time for a new pair… It’s just that these are my favorite!

The only newbies in this outfit are my Banana Republic sunglasses and my cherry coat from H&M – recently purchased for 30% off. I was in need of a new coat, and it’s hard to pass up a good sale like 30% off. Plus, I felt like my fall/winter wardrobe could use a good pop of color. There was a time when I would have NEVER bought a jacket in anything other than black or grey, but nowadays I’m all about it. In fact, I originally picked it up in mustard (we all know how I love that color), but they didn’t have my size, so I had to grab the cherry instead. I’m actually really happy that I did.
Oh yeah – and my short hair is a newbie too! I LOVE my new cut. It has drastically cut down on my getting ready time – and that’s what really matters to us moms, right?

Thank goodness it’s been 69 degrees in SoCal so that I can wear some of my fall clothes! It just feels wrong to purchase sweaters in 80 degree weather, even though I knew I’d get to wear them eventually. Is it cold where you live? If so, I am jealous because it’s supposed to be back up to 80 by the weekend. Bleck.
