A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about my love for affordable, trendy leatherette jackets. Then a few days after that, I picked up this black leatherette jacket at Target on sale for $35 – I’m pretty sure it was meant to be, since I found only one medium shoved in the very back of the rack:

I mentioned in my first post that leatherette jackets are really versatile; they can be worn with jeans, skirts, dresses, you name it. I thought I would show you just how versatile they can be using my own wardrobe.
Ways to wear your leatherette jacket

- Work: It’s totally appropriate for a mom to wear her leatherette jacket to work. Here I demonstrate how to wear it with a work-appropriate dress and tights. Think of it as an edgy blazer. (Dress: H&M, Jacket: Target, Tights: Target, Shoes: Payless)
- Weekend: You already knew that you could wear this jacket on the weekend, but instead of just wearing it over jeans and a tee, how about over your favorite weekend dress instead? Due to the cold weather, I threw on some tights and boots too. (Can you see my 3 month baby bump? I look a little chunky around the mid-section!) (Dress: H&M, Belt: H&M, Jacket: Target, Tights & Boots: Target)
- Rockstar: Embrace the hardness of your leatherette jacket and pair it with some skinny jeans and pumps. Everybody deserves to feel a little rockstar-ish every now and then. (Jacket: Target, Scarf: H&M, Top: H&M, Jeans: Alloy.com, Shoes, Target)
I hope I’ve inspired you to wear your leatherette jacket in new ways! Hopefully you’ll get lots of use out of it this fall and winter.
