Mixing patterns can be tricky and a little intimidating. But I’ve always been a huge fan of floral on floral, floral and stripes, stripes and polka dots, etc.; it just has to be done the right way.
The easiest way to mix patterns is to make sure that one is small in scale, and the other large. For example, a liberty print floral with a large abstract floral.
This week I felt like mixing it up with some pinstripe pants that I’ve had forever and hardly ever wear (I’m not sure why, I happen to think they are really cute) and a plaid top. The pinstripes are very subtle, so I think it works with the plaid.
