…for reminding me how much I love flowing floral dresses.
Kate Middleton and Prince William are finishing up their California visit today, and Kate continues to turn heads with her fashion choices. (see what Kate wore Friday)
At yesterday’s charity polo game in Santa Barbara, she showed up in a handpainted silk floral dress by Jenny Packham, whom she has worn in the past (see photos). The print and the careless flow of the dress reminded me just how much I love lightweight floral dresses in the summertime.
So I indulged myself and found this pretty little dress at Forever21, thanks to inspiration from Princess Catherine.
Cutout Floral Dress $18.90 at Forever21
This dress has a pretty muted tone and cap sleeves like Kate’s, and although it’s knit instead of silk, the skirt still has a pretty drape. The A-line skirt looks good on just about anyone, which is always a plus. At under $20, how can I not purchase it? It’s perfect for summer BBQs, or basically any occasion where I need to put away the tank tops and shorts and look like a lady instead of a sweaty, sidewalk-chalk-and-baby’s-lunch-and-post-lunch-diaper-covered mom.
So thanks, Kate, for reminding me about the pretty little florals that I had forgotten all about (and for reminding me that I can still look pretty).
See what Kate wore in sunny California yesterday, and how you can get the look for under $100.
