Things have been so busy lately… my husband went away for a week for work at the beginning of the month, and the week after that, I flew to California with my little 4 month old to surprise my mom for her birthday, and this week my family is on vacation in Las Vegas (and next week my husband leaves for ANOTHER trip… but hey, who’s counting?).
A few weeks ago, I touched on some top trends for fall 2014 including western, plaid and sweaters. Another trend for fall {and winter} that I am loving is pastels.
Pastels add a little bit of pretty into an otherwise drab season. I love the natural femininity that shines through when an ordinary coat is offered in a pink or a soft blue hue – and paired with some dark jeans and brown boots… forget about it. You’ll stand out in the best of ways.
I am obsessing over plaid for fall. We talked about it in my “Top 3 most wearable trends for fall” post a few weeks ago, and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for some perfect plaid pieces for fall and one just happened to pop into my shopping bag last week (funny how that happens).
We’re all guilty of it. Myself included. Yes, I admit to stealing looks directly off the mannequin. Or in this case, directly from a model. While browsing Old Navy’s website during a back-to-school shopping sesh for my Preschooler, I came across this look in their “Outfits We Love” section. And I thought 2 things: Wow,…
Disclosure: I participated in a sponsored campaign with Country Outfitter and received compensation and free product. All opinions are my own. Full disclosure statement Fall is coming… I’m not too jazzed about that, quite frankly. Even though it’s been extremely hot this summer in Colorado, I am loving it; I guess it’s the California girl in…
I love dressing my kids almost as much as I love dressing myself. Raise your hand if you often forego purchasing clothes for yourself so your kid can have some new skinny jeans and an old man cardigan… oh, just me?
Dressing my daughter for school always presents a bit of problem for me; I want her to look cute, but I also know that a white dress and tights is in no way practical. She will inevitably fall and dirty her knees while on the playground, get marker on her sweater sleeve and have a mystery mark on the seat of her jeans. So while I send her out looking like the perfect little lady, she returns home with frizzy hair, a sweaty forehead and one less sock.
Whilst shopping at Forever21 one week postpartum, I came across these rayon patterned pants. Normally I would never buy or wear anything so loud (prints kind of scare me), but these had an elastic waistband and totally fit the bill of what I was looking for: something that would fit me until my belly and…
First let me say that I would normally post a What I Wore article on a Wednesday, but this week I’ve been busy hosting some friends of ours who are visiting from California. In the interest of spending time with them and enjoying life and great friends, I haven’t had the time to devote to…
A lot of times when I take pictures to post here for What I Wore Wednesday, it’s on a day that I have somewhere to go. I look better on those days and feel a little more picture-worthy. Although I don’t wear a lot of sweats and do generally try to dress well each day…
You know what I hate? Trying to figure out what to wear postpartum. I don’t fit into any of my old pants or shorts, but maternity bottoms don’t really fit either. Tight-fitting shirts are a no-go since I have a little bit of a flabby postpartum tummy, so it’s loosey-goosey for the next few weeks.…
