Last week I was fortunate enough to attend an event at a local outlet center, The Outlets at Orange, where top stores like Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom Rack, and Saks OFF 5th shared their thoughts on the top fall trends for 2012.
Not only did I get a preview of the trends, I also got some fabulous Juicy Couture earrings from Last Call, lots of yummy food, and gift certificates and coupons to stores like Penguin, Last Call, and Calvin Klein. Basically, it was every fashion blogger’s dream.
I also made my first TV appearance in an interview by OCTV at the event. It was a little nerve-racking – I think there’s a reason that bloggers hide behind the computer screen! The interviewer told me not to look at the camera, so of course all I could think about was not looking at the camera…
Anyway, back to the real point of this post… Here are some of the tops trends for fall according to the stores that know it best:
- Faux fur (particularly vests)
- Sequins
- Fancy pants: textured, colored, shiny
- Jackets: The blazer is in for both men and women
- Cozy, oversized knits
- Leather
- As always, boots and tights are a must-have
