Hello, again!
It’s been, um, years, since I’ve updated this blog? My how times flies.
I put the blog aside back in 2018 when I began focusing full-time on my business nutsboltspaper.com. But I couldn’t ever bring myself to officially shut it down. I put years of hard work into building and creating relatable, helpful content for moms. So I kept it alive in case I ever wanted to breathe new life in to it.
And here we are!
Four years later, I have the urge to hop back in and share some home stuff, style stuff, and mom stuff once again.
So let’s not dwell on the past, let’s forge ahead!
Actually, one more thing while we are on the topic… if you want to stay updated, I suggest you follow me on Instagram (@themombot) and LiketoKnowIt (amy.themombot), which will be much more consistent than here on the blog. And if you love paper, stationery and memorykeeping, hop on over to nutsboltspaper.com and subscribe or follow me on Instagram (@nutsboltspaper).
Ok, NOW let’s talk lighting. I am a huge lover of pendant lights and accent lights; they make such a difference in adding some character to the room. Many can be found for under $100 (like my favorite options below) and come in plenty of colors with lots of copper, gold, black and silver accents.
Living Room Accent Lights
I added matching gold swing arm pendants to our living room on either side of the TV, because we have massive ceilings and the space was bare. See how they fill it up and add a nice touch of gold to the room?
Home Office Accent Lights
My office had a similar issue and needed some character on the beadboard wall behind my computer. So I added some artwork and a hanging wall sconce with copper accents (it was under $40!). Because there isn’t any hardwiring in the wall here, I used the magic light trick. Have you heard of it? Basically you purchase an adapter for the light socket and glue a puck light to it (these GE puck lights are my favorite). If you are using this trick in lights that are too far to reach, just purchase a puck light with a remote and you’re good to go (this is also what I did to the living pendants above).
Here’s a quick roundup of these and my other favorite pendant lights and accent lights – all from Amazon, all under $100!
