I’m still trying to figure out where the last year went…
How did it pass so quickly. I feel like just yesterday I was sharing Lincoln’s birth story, and now here we are, and he is turning one today.
What a joy and a blessing he has been! He has been the quintessential “easy baby.” Mia was fairly unsocial, got fussy in big crowds, didn’t like other people to hold her, thrived on routine… Lincoln has been easy-going, always smiling, and happy to be held by strangers. He eats like a champ, is already walking all over the house, loves his big sister, and does the cutest hello and good-bye wave while saying, “Hi Dad!,” regardless of who he is waving at.
I never want to forget this past year. It has been an adventure, and not nearly as difficult as I expected (probably because he made it easy). Lincoln has been such an integral piece in our family dynamic; the non-emotional one who gives his hormonal sister puzzled looks when she is in the midst of a fit. I’m sure he’ll have his own toddler struggles, but this first year was, in a word, perfection.
Happy birthday to my happy, handsome baby boy. I love you more than I can say!
